To celebrate the Midwest Film Festival’s 20th anniversary, I designed a nostalgic CD-inspired graphic for their commemorative merch. Modeled after the kind of burned mix CDs people used to make, the design features handwritten track listings, playful film-related doodles, and subtle nods to the festival’s history—like venues they've screened at over the years. The result is a lo-fi, personal-feeling design that captures the spirit of indie filmmaking and the DIY energy that’s been with the festival since it began in 2005. The festival even gave the project a special shout-out, writing: “This limited edition Festival Fashion Collection was designed by Amy Winkelman of Winks Designs. Amy is a graphic designer who hails from Detroit, MI and is currently based in Austin, TX. She focuses on branding, merch, content, and logos and has a penchant for projects that allow her to blend creativity with purpose!” Read the feature here.
